Health and safety training for supervisors
A competent supervisor is key to a successful health and safety program. This interactive workshop explains your responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and how they relate to the workers you supervise.
What makes a supervisor competent
The Act requires employers to appoint competent supervisors. A supervisor is competent if they are qualified by knowledge, training and experience in the work they oversee, familiar with the Act and regulations that apply to the workplace, and aware of actual or potential hazards so they can advise workers about them.
Our content aligns with the Ministry of Labour supervisor awareness workbook. We pay close attention to the supervisor's role in work refusals and in working with joint health and safety committees and representatives during inspections, investigations and Ministry of Labour inspections.
